Deleting your Puffy account.

You can delete your Puffy account and everything in it at any time, without asking us and without explaining why. This page is the whole procedure — including the part people usually discover too late, which is that deleting an account does not cancel an App Store subscription.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your account:

• The account itself: your email address, sign-in tokens, region and language.
• Every dog profile: name, breed, age, weight, photos, vaccinations, health events, notes and documents.
• Your Asky conversations.
• App settings and preferences.
• Analytics identifiers, if you had turned analytics on.

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account, and we will not pull one back out of a backup — that is what makes the promise worth anything.

How to delete it

Two routes, and both end in the same place. In the app: Profile → Edit → Delete account. By email: write to help@puffy.pet from the address you signed up with and say that you want your account deleted. That is the entire message; you do not need to justify it.

We do not ask why. We do not offer you a discount to stay, we do not route you to a retention flow, and we do not make you talk to anyone.

How long it takes

We finish within 30 days and email you when it is done. In practice it is much faster — 30 days is the outer limit we hold ourselves to, not the target.

Encrypted backups rotate on a rolling schedule, so residual copies age out rather than being individually erased. Nothing is ever restored from them.

Your subscription is separate

Puffy Plus is billed by Apple, not by us. Deleting your Puffy account does not cancel the subscription and does not trigger a refund. If you skip this step you can end up paying for an account that no longer exists.

Cancel it yourself: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Puffy → Cancel Subscription. Do that first if you want the billing to stop.

Refunds are Apple’s to give, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue one on your behalf, however much we might want to.

What we keep, and why

Almost nothing, and none of it is useful for anything else:

• Purchase and accounting records, for as long as tax law requires us to hold them.
• A minimal record that a deletion request was made and completed — a date and a reference, no profile content — so that we can prove we honoured it if anyone ever asks.
• Anything a valid legal order requires us to preserve. This has never happened.

If you only want a copy

Deleting is not the only option. Ask for an export instead — in the app, Profile → Settings → Data and Storage, or the same email address — and we send you a machine-readable copy of everything within 30 days. Details are in the privacy policy.

If you cannot get in

Lost access to the email you signed up with? Write from any address with enough detail for us to identify the account, and we will work it out together. We would rather verify slowly than delete the wrong person’s dog.
